The Top Dog. The Big Dog. The Face Behind the Name. The Leader of the Pack. The Big Cheese. The Host with the Most. The Fresh Face of Financial Literacy…Z-Dog is your financially reliable type, whilst still being able to rock out on a Saturday night.
Z-Dog had a dream to help youth become more financially secure. Z-Dog's dream became reality when Nelson & District Credit Union created a site that shared info and links to topics relevant to young people and their money.
Welcome to www.zippitydodog.com.
Zippity’s cousin from down the lane who doesn’t really have it all together. A regular at alleyway gatherings and financially illiterate, Bingo tends to spend his money faster than he can beg for it. A rebel without a paws! That doesn’t even make sense…..
Bingo’s talent is getting the straight goods on what info young people want. Watch out McGruff, Bingo abilities to sniff out a story are unparalleled.
Z-Dog’s official spokes owl.
Cashooo fell in love with the West Kootenays in May 2004 while flying around with a group of migratory owls. She found herself spending a good portion of her day hangin’ on the telephone pole in the alley behind Nelson & District Credit Union.
She found herself intrigued by the daily sight of two dogs exiting the credit union backdoor with ‘Tom the Youth Guy’; of course these two dogs were Z-Dog and Bingo. One day she got the courage to ask Bingo, who also spends a good portion of his day in this alley also, “Why do you spend so much time at Nelson & District Credit Union?
His reply was that he was working on a one-of-a-kind web site and attending K-9 Financial Information Seminars in order to help him ‘save his bones’. Bingo and Cashooo became good friends and she was asked if she would like to help with the site Bingo and his cousin Z-Dog were working on.
She said ‘yes’ and the rest is history, Cashooo is now an important part of the zippitydodog team, working hard to keep this site the Kootenays best site for ‘Financial Information for Youth’.

Originally from the small fishing village of Plug up in the North
West Territories, Chris found his way to Nelson in the fall of 1998.
Starting out as a youth intern with Human Resources Development
Canada Chris decided that the only person he wanted to answer to
in life was himself, and maybe Andy. As a result of "not wanting
to work for the man" Funktion Design and Media, a full service
web development company, was created. Relying on a diet of coffee
and smokes, with the occasional steak sandwich thrown in for variety,
Chris and partner Andy deliver websites 24/7. A self-proclaimed
"bassist extraordinaire" Chris is a member of the world's
most famous rock band, BC/DC under the pseudonym of Spliff Swilliams.
As a member of the ZDog crew Chris is geared up to keep the site
in order.
Hailing from Wheatlip, a large Saskatchewan coastal city, Andy
ventured into Nelson during the winter of 1995. One day Andy met
Chris and realized that they both shared an interest in web development;
the rest is what they call history. The two joined forces and Funktion
Design and Media was created in Dec. 2000, providing full service
web development to those in need. When not in front of the computer
screen Andy finds time to collate his paperclip collection according
to color and paper clipping capacity. At night Andy switches into
DJ mode under the clever moniker of Capn' Fuzz but always returns
to his calling in life at Funktion. As a member of the Zippity Doo
Dog crew Andy is geared up to keep the site in order.
