Volunteer Benefits: Are you interested in what the media can do for you? How music is selected for a radio show? How a radio station works?

Be involved in your community cooperative radio station, learn about independent media, have direct contact with local groups & musicians, current events, and our ever growing music library.

Our volunteers (of all ages) say that Kootenay Cooperative Radio is a great place to connect with community, a diversity of people with different interests, & to have a voice, all while developing personal experiences & confidence.

Build your skills in a variety of areas: computer data entry, organizing and reviewing music in our library, receptionist tasks (answering phones), filing,(and if you are really dedicated) we can introduce you to a variety of audio & radio computer programs & equipment.

There are many fund raising events this year that will require help in preparation, from making decorations to taking posters around town.

If you are interested in hosting your own radio show, please call the office and ask for the Programming Manager to have your name on the list for orientation, and to be given the information you would need to send in your show proposal.
